Start creating cherished memories with this adorable DIY Keepsake Bunny Pattern, which includes instructions as to how to make a 'Button Jointed' Bunny. Due to using Buttons for the joints, it is not suitable to be a toy and instead should be made from special fabrics ie outgrown baby clothes, or perhaps a late loved ones favourite dress, making it a perfect heirloom and keepsake for all the family.
Instructions include step by step written instructions with hand drawn illustrations to help achieve a great result!
All materials and tools needed are listed on the 1st page of the instructions.
What you will need:
- Fat Quarter of Cotton or Linen Medium weight Fabric or more (ensure the pattern is None Directional), or clothing you wish to repurpose
- Sewing machine, Fabric & Paper Scissors, Pins, Hand Sewing Needle, Matching Thread
- Embroidery Thread, Upholstery Thread
- Vanishing Pen, Doll Making Needle
- Chopstick or Knitting Needle
- Toy Stuffing, 4 Buttons, Tulle or Yarn for Tail
- Something to make a Pom Pom with
Finished button jointed bunny is approx. 14" (35cm) when standing.
The process to make is relatively easy and I have made hundreds of these bunnies over the years, keeping memories alive and they are loved by all, young and old!
This Sewing Pattern was designed and curated by myself, by hand, especially for you and as I have made hundreds of Keepsakes over the years it's now time to share the process with you. I hope that you enjoy stitching this design as much as I do.

Recommend stitching with a sewing machine, but it is possible to stitch by hand also.
Fabric suggested is Cotton or Linen, but can also be made from Wool, Flannel, Felt...
If you wish to use pre-loved clothing, I would suggest using a fusible interfacing to prepare the fabrics.
