Hello and Welcome to my Studio

Introduction

Hi, I'm Michelle, and I live in a small town in County Durham, England.

I spend my days doodling and stitching in my light and airy studio which overlooks the garden, where I also teach small groups how to sew and discover the addictive world of Free-Motion Machine Embroidery and Applique.

Growing up, I was surrounded by fabrics and threads as I watched my mum sew and fix clothes for my brother and I. This I believe helped me to draw on my creativity as learned the values of Make and Mend from an early age, values of which I share these with those I teach too.

One scrap at a time

As a Small Business, I am always actively working towards a healthier greener future by trying to source natural, organic fabrics, which are ethically produced alongside using both vintage and as many of my scraps as possible – even the tiniest – turning my illustrations into intricate textile artwork, lovingly embellished with a twist of Mixed Media and embellished with my unique style.

Inspiration

A huge part of my work is influenced by nature and being a mum.  My children (now teens) have grown watching me create so I've always encouraged them to find their voice and explore their own creativity to which I drew pockets of inspiration and looked at the environment from their eye.

Over the years I have created Keepsakes, Gifts and Accessories, being trusted with bespoke commissions and treasured clothing filled with memories and it's been joyous and one I will always treasure.

I give 100% of my love, care and attention to everything I create for you or teach you and I hope that it makes you 100% happy too.
